Current Song Obsessions
Time again for what I'm listening to. As unusual I'll be switching it up from alt rock to pop. I hope you enjoy!

The Fixer- Pearl Jam
This song really grew on me from the first time I heard it. Eddie Vedder still has that voice, he never sounded better. The video captures some of their epic live show or so I'm told, because I have yet to see them in concert. Someday....someday.
Manos Al Aire- Nelly Furtado
Nelly Furtado has always fascinated me and I suppose its cause I can't quite figure her out. But that hasn't stopped me from singing all her songs at the top of my lungs during long car trips (by myself). No one needs to witness that embarrassment. Her latest album also has be in a quandry. She's a Portuguese woman releasing an all Spanish album. Ok. But it works. This song is delightfully catchy even if you don't know a word of Spanish, but watching the video which has helpful subtitles in English makes you only appreciate the song more. Shudder fellow thruway drivers....shudder.

Death- White Lies
How to describe White Lies? Hmmmm. I'll let them describe themselves. According to their youtube channel they are "the glowering, glistening, moody, magnificent, cheekbones-of-granite, stone cold future of Rock". While they are certainly over estimating their good looks, they couldn't be more dead on about their sound. I think of them as a dash of 80's snyth pop, a pinch of The Bravery and a spoonful of The Killers all in one. You like that? Then check out the video below for their newest single Death. It's slow and rises into a beautiful crescendo at the end. Stick with it, you'll love it at the end.

Before this song I didn't understand the hype. Now I do. Either you love it or you don't, all I know is that if they keep making music like this, I might be a devoted fan.
If You Touch Me I'll Scream Part II- My Morning Jacket
My Morning Jacket is wondrous. Their latest album Evil Urges is a jewel meant to be treasured for all time. Never on a alt rock album have I heard such a range. Check out other tracks, The Librarian, Highly Suspicious and I'm Amazed. But the song below is my definite favorite on the album. Listen to it on headphones or in the car, blast it.
